Getting a Vehicle for Your Nova Scotia Road Test

If you are looking for a road test car rental in Halifax or elsewhere in Nova Scotia, make sure the vehicle you arrange is safe, roadworthy, properly registered and insured, and accepted for use at your testing location.

Before test day, check the vehicle carefully so an avoidable problem does not prevent the road test from going ahead.

What to Check Before Your Road Test

  • Documents: Confirm that the vehicle’s registration, insurance and inspection requirements are current.
  • Safety equipment: Check the brakes, seat belts, horn, mirrors, lights and turn signals.
  • Vehicle condition: Make sure the tires, windshield and licence plates are in acceptable condition and that the vehicle is clean and ready for the examiner.
  • Testing requirements: Review the latest Nova Scotia road-test information through Access Nova Scotia before your appointment.

Artin Driving School does not provide standalone road test car rentals. Vehicle use is reserved for eligible students enrolled in our Full Driver Education Course and must be arranged with their instructor.

Our service is available in Halifax, Dartmouth, Sackville, and surrounding areas in Nova Scotia.
