At approximately 2:45 PM on June 11, 2025, a high-impact crash occurred at the intersection of Quinpool Road and Beech Street in Halifax. This Quinpool Road car crash left two vehicles severely damaged and cut power to parts of the surrounding area.

According to eyewitness accounts and scene evidence, a Tesla Model Y was exiting Beech Street when it collided with a Hyundai SUV traveling at high speed along Quinpool Road. The crash occurred in Halifax, where the Tesla reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign, while the Hyundai, allegedly speeding, swerved and clipped the Tesla in a high-speed impact. The force of the crash launched the Tesla into a utility pole, snapping it at the base and disrupting electricity in the neighborhood.

Emergency crews, including Halifax Regional Police and fire services, responded quickly after the Quinpool Road car crash. Power crews were dispatched shortly after to restore electricity.

Quinpool Road: Busy, Dense, and Dangerous

Quinpool Road is one of Halifax’s busiest corridors. It serves thousands of vehicles daily, linking shopping centers, schools, apartment complexes, and community hubs. With narrow lanes, hidden intersections, and high pedestrian traffic, this road demands serious attention and skill from every driver.

This is not an isolated event. Just a month ago, we covered another serious incident along Quinpool, another crash in Halifax, which you can revisit here. These repeated crashes suggest deeper issues that go beyond driver error, including street design and traffic enforcement.

What Went Wrong?

Preliminary reports suggest this was a combination of multiple driver errors:

  • The Tesla driver reportedly did not fully stop at the stop sign on Beech Street before entering the crash-prone Quinpool Road in Halifax.

  • The Hyundai, allegedly traveling well above the speed limit, cut in front of the Tesla as it attempted to merge.

The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles and launched the Tesla into a roadside utility pole. The pole was fractured near its base, causing power outages across nearby businesses and homes for several hours.
